Schule Schloss Salem and the parents work together in partnership to bring the children up to be capable of forming relationships, self-confident and healthy. A boarding school is not meant to replace the family, but to complement the upbringing at home. Our pupils come to us of their own accord and are supported in this by their parents.
An extremely dedicated parents' association works closely with the Principal and various committees of Schule Schloss Salem. The central concern is to exchange information about the child entrusted to the school, and this is sought after and stimulated in many different ways:
- At Parents' Days several times a year parents, teachers and tutors take advantage of the opportunity for detailed discussions.
- At regular intervals the parents receive information on the child's level of achievement in the school as well as the child's situation as a boarder – usually in the form of a so-called “flash”, which contains the current marks and short comments from the subject teachers and the mentor (or house tutor in the Upper School)
- In boarders' reports at the end of the school year each mentor (or house tutor in the Upper School) informs the parents in detail about the educational and personal development of the pupil.
