The Abitur and the International Baccalaureate

As the upper school campus of the Schule Schloss Salem, the Salem International College offers boys and girls from all over the world a comprehensive two-year education leading to a university entrance qualification.

Tuition is available in a choice of German (for the Abitur) or English.

Tuition in both systems takes place morning and afternoon from Monday to Saturday inclusive. Lessons are generally spread over a double period (90 minutes).

Tuition is from 8 am to 1.30 pm in the morning and from 2.30 pm to 4 pm in the afternoon. Other activities, including sport, are offered in the afternoon and evening. Each pupil receives an individual timetable.

Besides the regular compulsory subjects, pupils can take part in a variety of extracurricular activities designed to deepen or widen their knowledge of specific subject areas, e.g. Model United Nations, business@school, project trips and excursions or after-school clubs.

To assist them with applications to international universities, students are prepared for the S.A.T. test for example, or can take advantage of a Careers Counselling service.
