SIC welcomes Las Vegas – Round Square Casino Night

"I knew, I wouldn't be able to keep my New Year's resolution until the end of the year. But isn't it really impertinent to seduce people to gambling by a Casino Night!?" - This year Round Square invited for the second time to a (in the meantime already traditional) Casino Night at the evening of the Formal Diner and before the departure into Christmas break. Everybody, who thought highly of his gambling abilities, amused oneself at Black Jack, poker or at the roulette table - in short, the who's who of Salem International College got together at this evening to throw their last year's resolutions over board by the sounds of a live jazz band and to devote themselves to gambling.

It was played with Round Square paper money which had to be payed at the cash box with real money. A fixed limit made sure that the money spent, respectively the loss was manageable. But after all, for the winner two free tickets for the Thermal spa in Überlingen were waiting - a compelling offer for the friends of relaxation.

Yes, I absolutely confess that we used little tricks to seduce students and staff members to gambling. The result with more than 1.000€ was impressive and justified the gamblers' oblivion of the own resolutions. The resume of the Casino Night 2008: an event, that brought students and staff members together and which was a nice closure of the epoch. By the way: a repetition of the Casino Night next year would bring the attribute "tradition" because there is a golden rule at Salem which says that each event, that takes place three times or more is considered as tradition!
